Netflix has officially begun production on Season 4 of the fantasy series “The Witcher,” marking the occasion with a cast table read. They also made a major announcement about the show’s fifth and final season.

The official Twitter account of the show shared the news, stating that Season 4 is now in production. Additionally, they revealed plans to film Season 5 back-to-back, which will serve as the epic conclusion to the series.

Netflix mentioned that Season 4 and 5 will cover the remaining books by Andrzej Sapkowski, specifically “Baptism of Fire,” “The Tower of the Swallow,” and “Lady of the Lake.”

Regarding the cast, viewers can expect to see Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey reprising their roles. However, Henry Cavill will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth, known for his role in “The Hunger Games,” as Geralt of Rivia. Hemsworth expressed his excitement about joining “The Witcher” world in an Instagram post following the announcement in October 2022.
