Shakira refuses to take another diss at ex-partner Gerard Pique | Pro Hub of News
Shakira appears to have closed the chapter on her tumultuous split from Gerard Pique, as reflected in her new single “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” which is a diss track aimed at her ex-boyfriend.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, the 47-year-old singer confirmed that the song is likely the final piece she will write about their relationship. “It’s hopefully the last song that I will write about this, and to him,” she stated.
Shakira candidly shared that she felt a need to express her emotions through music, explaining, “I felt that there was still something there, stuck in my throat, and I needed to get it out.” The emotional impact of the song was evident when she played it for the marketing head at Sony, who reportedly started crying. “I’d never seen a man cry in my studio before,” she remarked, referring to the marketing head as a ‘big softie.’
While acknowledging that the song is not solely about her or Pique, Shakira expressed her gratitude for including it in her album as a way to release her feelings. She declared, “But I’m glad I was able to include it in the album, even if it’s the last song, the last song that I write to him. I hope.”
Despite her assertion that this could be the final song about her past relationship, Shakira left a slight opening by saying, “But I could always change my mind,” before moving on to another topic.
