Which team is Cristiano Ronaldo secretly rooting for to win Champions League? | Pro Hub of News

Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has shared his predictions for the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League, naming Manchester City, his former club Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich as his top favorites. Speaking at the 2023 Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo praised Manchester City for their previous season’s performance and expressed his belief in their potential to win the Champions League again.

In addition to discussing football predictions, Ronaldo also shared his views on the competitiveness of the Saudi Pro League (SPL), where he currently plays for Al-Nassr. He asserted that, in his opinion, the SPL surpasses France’s Ligue 1 in terms of competitiveness, stating, “I think now we are better than Ligue 1.”

Despite his focus on club football, Ronaldo’s individual achievements were highlighted as he was recognized as the top goalscorer in the world’s top divisions in 2023. Ending the year with 54 goals for Al Nassr and Portugal, he outperformed competitors like Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland.

The ongoing Globe Soccer Awards, taking place in Dubai, have Ronaldo nominated in various categories. He is a contender for the Best Men’s Player award, where he and Lionel Messi dominated the initial round of public voting. Ronaldo is also listed for the Fans’ Favourite Player award and is among the prominent names vying for the newly introduced Best Middle East Player accolade.

Despite his exceptional goal-scoring achievements, Ronaldo did not secure a nomination for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award, which Lionel Messi won earlier. Additionally, he was not nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or, marking the first time since 2003 that he did not make the final shortlist.
