Prince Harry faces major blow over royal role amid rift with royal family | Pro Hub of News

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has faced a significant setback as he is now barred from a role that would have allowed him to stand in for his father, King Charles, in certain circumstances. This development comes amid an ongoing rift with the royal family. According to a report from People magazine, Prince Harry will not be included in the Counsellors of State, a group that King Charles could call upon when he is unavailable, such as during hospital visits for medical issues like an enlarged prostate.

The Times also revealed that Prince Harry’s eligibility as a Counsellor of State was quietly revoked shortly after King Charles ascended to the throne. The legislation, enacted by parliament in late 2022, restricts those eligible to act as substitutes to “working members of the royal family.” This effectively sidelines both Prince Andrew and Prince Harry, despite their existing roles as counsellors of state.

The legislative changes, made by King Charles, have expanded the list of family members who can act on his behalf. Notably, Princess Anne and Prince Edward have been included in the updated list of eligible family members. The development coincides with Buckingham Palace’s announcement that King Charles will undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate and will be admitted to the hospital next week.
