Nicole Kidman recalls ‘lonely’ Oscar win after Tom Cruise divorce | Pro Hub of News

Nicole Kidman revealed a poignant moment from her life, recounting the time she secured an Oscar win amidst the challenges of her high-profile divorce from Tom Cruise. The 56-year-old actress, who ended her 11-year marriage with the Mission Impossible star in 2003, coincidentally the same year she clinched her first Academy Award for her role as Virginia Woolf in The Hours.

Despite personal struggles, Kidman’s professional life was flourishing. Following her Oscar triumph, she candidly shared that she returned home and opted for a low-key celebration, sitting on the floor of the Beverly Hills Hotel with her family, indulging in takeout of French fries and a burger.

Reflecting on that moment, she admitted, “I need to find my love; I need a love in my life. Because this is supposed to be when you go, ‘This is ours.'”

The Eyes Wide Shut actress also disclosed her reluctance to attend the Oscars afterparty, deeming it as “gloating.” Despite others urging her to showcase her Academy Award, Kidman resisted, stating, “That just feels like gloating. It’s just inappropriate. They’re like, ‘That’s what you do.'”

This significant achievement came in the aftermath of her highly-publicized divorce from Tom Cruise, whom she married in 1990 and parted ways with in 2001.
