Is Marvel’s ‘What If…?’ coming to an end? | Pro Hub of News

Marvel’s animated series “What If…?” will conclude with its upcoming third season, according to Entertainment Weekly. The final installment of the series features Jeffrey Wright as Uatu the Watcher and Hayley Atwell as Captain Peggy Carter.

The release date for the new season has not been announced yet. Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, described the third season on Marvel’s official podcast as completing a trilogy and hinted at expanding its exploration of the multiverse beyond the first two seasons.

Since its debut in August 2021, “What If…?” has been inspired by the Marvel Comics series of the same name. The animated show explores alternate timelines within the multiverse, depicting how key moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) might have unfolded differently.

Season one episodes featured scenarios such as Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter becoming the first Avenger by taking on the role of Captain America instead of Steve Rogers, T’Challa becoming Star-Lord, and Doctor Strange embracing a darker path.

In season two, the show continued its inventive storytelling with episodes showcasing Nebula as a member of the Nova Corps, Peter Quill turning against the Avengers, Happy Hogan transforming into a Hulk to save Christmas, and Iron Man finding himself on Sakaar after a crash landing.

The series has also introduced new Marvel characters and explored unique narratives, including Captain Carter’s battles with the Hydra Stomper, the introduction of Kahhori empowered by the Tesseract, Hela’s discovery of the Ten Rings, and a 1602 version of the Avengers.

“What If…?” has been praised for its creativity in reimagining familiar MCU storylines and characters through the lens of alternate realities.
