Lionel Messi refrains from resting even on his birthday | Pro Hub of News

Lionel Messi, the revered Argentine football legend, celebrated his 37th birthday on Monday amidst preparations for Argentina’s upcoming Copa America match against Chile, slated for Tuesday.

The Inter Miami star shared a photo on Instagram, showing him holding a birthday cake surrounded by teammates in a hotel room. In a modest message accompanying the post, he expressed gratitude for the well-wishes and explained, “Another year coinciding with my birthday with the National Team… So just a small celebration as we continue preparing for our next game. Hugs!”

Official Argentina social media accounts and Fifa also paid homage to Messi, with the Argentina account posting a video of Messi’s triumphant moment lifting the World Cup in Qatar 2022, remarking, “Today is the birthday of the one who made our dream of seeing him as champion come true.”

David Beckham, co-owner of Inter Miami, extended birthday wishes to Messi on his own Instagram, honoring him as “the greatest” and “my friend.”

Born on June 24, 1987, Messi has often spent his birthdays with the Albiceleste, from World Cups in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018 to Copa America tournaments. This year, his focus was on preparing for their Copa America clash against Chile at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The stadium holds a poignant memory for the former Barcelona star, as it was where Argentina lost to Chile on penalties in the Bicentennial Cup final on June 26, 2016. Nevertheless, fans are hopeful for Argentina to reverse their fortunes this time around.
