Miley Cyrus had cautioned Billy Ray Cyrus about his then-girlfriend Firerose, warning that she was an “opportunist,” leading to a bitter rift between father and daughter.

Recently, the country singer has come to realize that his daughter was right about the 34-year-old singer. Just seven months after their marriage, Billy Ray has filed for annulment.

In Touch Weekly reported that tensions began when Billy Ray started dating Firerose four years ago, with Miley immediately disapproving. “She told her dad Firerose was an opportunist who was taking advantage of him, and Billy Ray became so upset that he and Miley stopped communicating,” revealed an insider.

“Now, Billy Ray wants Firerose out of his life and hopes to mend fences with Miley, even if it means enduring her ‘I told-you-so’s!'” the insider continued.

The insider also shared that Miley is open to reconciling with her father. “Miley firmly believes their estrangement is due to her father’s actions, not hers,” the source explained. “With Firerose no longer in the picture, she’s willing to try to heal their relationship and restore the loving bond they once shared.”
